Born in 1980 in Dublin, Ireland. Lan of Vietnamese origin began an
artistic career at a young age in music and art, winning competitions
in both subjects she had her first commission at the age of 11 yrs.
After moving to London in 1992 she successfully completed her studies
in GCSE , A Level and BTEC foundation course in art and design at Middlesex
university. She followed her love of art to Central Saint Martins and
did her BA Diploma in fashion design and marketing.
While working at a photographic studio in the West End to fund her
course, she was quickly introduced to fellow stylists and make up artists
whom discovered her talent for the art of make up application and hair
styling. Given her first set of brushes she quickly learnt to deal
with all types of clients with different skin tones and colourings
and developed a great understanding to their needs. She developed a
rapport with photographers which lead to assisting a top news and fashion
photographer Steve Wood for 5yrs at London, NY, Milan and Paris Fashion
Weeks. On her trips she met with many of her favourite celebrities
and top models to name a few such as Mariah Carey, Liz Hurley, Nicole
Kidman, , Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld, Mario Testino, Sean Combs aka P.Diddy,
Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and even First Lady Laura Bush! Known for her creative flare and polished look, Lan has achieved many
of her goals in a short space of time and continues to enjoy the challenges
of the make up industry. As a team player, she has been head make up
artist for a number of fashion shows and high profile events which
has lead her to work with celebrities such as Javine Hylton, Micha
Paris, Katie Hill, Sarah Manners, Sophie Anderton, Lady Isabella Harvey,
Laila Rouss, Gabby Logan, and ex-corrie girl Shobna Gulati. |
